"This year in Marion County, some 39,133 children whose families struggle to make ends meet qualify for food assistance at school.  With your help, our BackSacks program provides nutritious shelf-stable meals and snacks to feed children when school meals aren't available.  Fresh in our minds is our most recent gift, every dollar of which enabled us to do good like this.  Thank you again!  We know you have many worthwhile charities to support, so we'll never take for granted the place you've chosen in our Gleaners giving family. Thank you for helping us feed every child and provide hope to every family in need."

Most gratefully yours,
President & CEO

CARE (Community Action Relief Effort) was successfully piloted last summer serving over 62,000 individuals.  Over half of those served were children and seniors; nearly 2,500 were veterans.  Our first 2016 summer distribution of June 6th resulted in 1,100 people served; numbers continue to climb.  CARE is having a significant impact on the quality of life for these families.  Thank you for joining these public service agencies and Gleaners by investing in the lives of these families."

With much gratitude,
President & CEO

Across our region, thousands of military veterans struggling with food insecurity are being served thanks to your generosity to Gleaners.  For these men and women, many of whom have risked their lives for our well-being, hunger has become yet another battlefield on which they are fighting to stay alive and well.  Thank you for giving your best gift this Memorial Day weekend!"

Gratefully,
President & CEO

"After receiving your generous gift, I wanted to thank you or your support in our efforts to feed our hungry neighbors in central and southeast Indiana. Every dollar you give helps us provide three meals to families in need. On behalf of all of the single parents, the retirees raising their grandchildren and so many others, thank you for giving to make sure they have not only food on their tables, but also a little hope that sometime in the future, their situation will improve. Your support is more than fresh produce, jars of peanut butter, boxes of macaroni and cheese or even BackSacks. Your support tells them that their community cares and they are "After receiving your generous gift, I wanted to thank you or, that their fellow Hoosiers are there with a helping hand."

"After receiving your generous gift, I wanted to thank you for your support in our efforts to feed our hungry neighbors.  We see the smile of appreciation on a single mothers face when we help fill her bags at a Mobile Pantry distribution.  We hear the stories of retired grandparents who are now standing in line at the food pantry because they have depleted their retirement savings by taking in their grandchildren.  We hear the desperation in the voice of the father who cant feed his family after being down-sized from a high paying job.  Thank you for your generosity and for joining us as we serve, until every bowl is filled."

Sincerely,
Chief Advancement Officer

"Thank you!  We just received your generous donation to Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana and it means the world to us.  Because of you, we can continue to serve families and individuals struggling with hunger and provide them hope for a brighter future.  Thank you again for your investment in Gleaners and belief that no child or family should ever have to go hungry."
